COVID-19 Cases Rise To Three, PM Majaliwa Confirms


Tanzania has confirmed two new cases of Coronavirus and rising to a total of three cases, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has confirmed.

Earlier today on 18th  March 2020 during his press conference, the Prime Minister Majaliwa told the journalists that the two patients are foreigners from Germany and the US.

According to PM Majaliwa, the first case has reported in Zanzibar and the second one in Dar es Salaam.
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the government has suspended access to social gatherings and ordered the closure of schools, colleges and universities. 

Also, the minister of health Ummy Mwalimu in Arusha has urged Tanzanians to take precautions to prevent infection and to report at any medical centre if they develop any symptoms of the disease.

While speaking with journalists today minister Ummy through a mobile phone talked with the first patient known as Isabella Mwapamba who said she is doing fine.

Mwaposa who apologised Tanzanians as the first person to be confirmed with coronavirus said “I would like to use this opportunity to educate the public on how to protect and the ways of how these viruses spread. it is a pandemic disease, people should stay calm and follow the guidelines issued by the authorities”
