STANBIC Bank Tanzania has donated 100 desks valued at 9m/- to Toangoma Primary School in Temeke as part of the bank’s ongoing nationwide campaign ‘Stanbic Madawati Initiative’ that aims to donate 1000 desks across different schools in the country.
The desks were handed over by the Bank’s Head of Private and Business Banking, Omari Mtiga, to Temeke District Commissioner, Jokate Mwegelo, at a ceremony held at the school premises.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Bank’s Head of Private and Business Banking, said the 100 desks donated to the school will greatly improve access to learning facilities and learning conditions as well.
“We believe that all students will achieve their dreams if given the needed support. The donation from our Bank will help improve the learning environment and stimulate the performance of Toangoma students,” the Stanbic Bank Senior Official said.

He further said that Stanbic Bank has recently donated other desks to Mbambala Secondary School in Dodoma.
On her part, Temeke DC Jokate Mwegelo has commended Stanbic Bank’s efforts in helping the government improving education and urged other investors to follow the suit.
She called on the school administration to ensure that the desks donated are used properly so that they can benefit as many students as possible and urged students to work hard to improve the school’s academic performance.
‘Stanbic Madawati initiative’ aims to improve the learning environment for students across Tanzania and contribute towards fostering economic development through inclusive and quality education.
